As one of Europe's first licensed sports betting providers, Winamax is committed to esports. The Paris-based online sports betting and online poker provider, which has over seven million registered users, has entered into a two-year partnership with G2 Esports. As part of this collaboration, Winamax will support G2's League of Legends teams as an official sponsor and become the 'Official Betting Partner' of the G2 Esports team in the Kings League in Germany. Winamax has also been approved as the 'Official Sports Betting Operator' within Riot Games' esports ecosystem for European and international League of Legends and Valorant competitions.
These partnerships mark a decisive milestone for Winamax. Being recognised by Riot - the world's leading esports publisher - as the Official Sports Betting Operator for European and international competitions confirms that Winamax has met the requirements of the Riot Betting Operator Programme. Becoming an official partner of the G2 Esports League of Legends team, its players and its co-streamers highlights our commitment to establishing a long-term presence in the esports ecosystem. Together, we will create unique experiences for the team's fans and the esports community as a whole," explains Julien Huber, Winamax's Head of Marketing.
The partnership with G2 Esports will comprise physical and digital activities. It will begin with the launch of a weekly podcast called 'HopEUm', which brings together professional players, content creators and guests from the European esports scene. Additionally, the Winamax brand will feature in the content of partner co-streamers, such as Skyyart.
"We're incredibly excited to work with a truly pan-European partner who feels like a perfect fit for G2. Our fans are everywhere, literally in every single country and it means a lot to us to collaborate with a brand that shares that same European DNA," said Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2. "With the launch of HopEUm, we wanted to go beyond a classic partnership and create something that genuinely brings value to our fans and the wider community. This show will, for the first time, capture the point of view of each community across Europe, and we can’t wait to see it come to life."
