The title song is performed by Lana Del Rey and was written and composed by her and David Arnold. It marks Arnold's return to the Bond franchise, after he had already been responsible for the music in The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

Set to release on 27 May 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and in summer 2026 for the Nintendo Switch 2, 007 First Light features a reimagined origin story of James Bond. Still inexperienced and sometimes reckless, he takes his first steps into the world of espionage. Anyone who pre-orders the game now will receive a free Deluxe Upgrade, including 24 hours of early access (available for digital editions only). Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are limited to physical editions.

IO Interactive: "The title sequence follows the Bond franchise's long-lived tradition of the opening credits showcasing the game's motifs and identity. The title sequence and title song of 007 First Light set the tone for Bond's reimagined origin story with a modern yet classic flair."

Alongside the title sequence and song, IO Interactive has released the fourth instalment of Beyond the Light, which focuses on the soundtrack of the game. This episode features interviews with with Dominic Vega, Missions and Audio Director on 007 First Light, and The Flight, the composer duo behind the score of 007 First Light.

In any case, it has been a long time since the last 007 video game, 007 Legends, which was released in 2012.

Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, said at the game's unveiling last year: "With 007 First Light, we're building a wholly original James Bond experience from the ground up, one that blends the sharp tension of espionage with the bold spectacle the franchise is known for. The gameplay is rooted in our signature approach to immersive design, combining stealth, action, and creativity in a way that feels uniquely tailored to Bond."
