Twenty more projects received grants from the German federal funding programme for games. Almost €14 million went to studios such as Aesir Interactive, Playing History, King Art, Realmforge Studios, kr3m. media and Stillfront Germany, among others.
As part of its federal funding for computer and video games programme, the German Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) is supporting an additional 20 projects from German studios with a total of nearly €14 million.
The largest portion, almost €4 million, is going to King Art for a game with the working title "Tischplatte Ultimate Edition". The Bremen-based studio is currently working on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV (this is the game with the working title "Tischplatte") and an as-yet-unannounced cooperative action shooter. It is the third-highest grant awarded by this programme, behind Anno 117: Pax Romana (Ubisoft: €5,697,585) and Foxtrot (Deck 13 Interactive: €5,007,903). Although the funding period runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 April 2028, the project only recently appeared in the funding database. As the funding period extends so far into the future, it is highly likely that the game will be supported with new content and expansions in the long term.
Realmforge Studios, based in Munich, receives €2.3 million for the 'Coven' project. Meanwhile, Claymore Game Studios gets €361,496 for Commandos: Origins DLC2 (Capture). Both studios are part of the Kalypso Media Group.
Stillfront Germany was awarded just under one million Euros for Empire: Next. Goodgame Studios (known for Goodgame Empire) is part of Stillfront Germany. Munich-based Aesir Interactive receives €1.55 million for two projects (WT: Corn & Pearl), while kr3m. media is awarded €710,318 for Words.
