Activision hat für den 25. Oktober einen neuen Teil aus dem "Call of Duty"-Subbrand "Modern Warfare" angekündigt. Entwickelt von Infinity Ward setzt es die Story bisherigen "Modern Warfare"-Trilogie weder fort noch handelt es sich um ein schlichtes HD-Remake.

Zwei Wochen vor der E3 hat Activision das Geheimnis um das diesjährige "Call of Duty" enthüllt: Er erscheint am 25. Oktober und trägt als Untertitel schlicht "Modern Warfare", Activision reaktiviert damit eine der Submarken, welche die Reihe einst zu ihrer Größe verhalfen. Formal handelt es sich um das vierte "Modern Warfare", jedoch wird das neue Spiel weder eine Fortsetzung noch ein Rerelease des ersten Teils. Fest steht, dass "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" im Gegensatz zum letztjährigen "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" eine umfangreiche Story bekommen wird. Dabei gibt es auch ein Wiedersehen mit bekannten und bei Fans beliebten Charakteren wie Captain Price aus der Trilogie. Dass "Modern Warfare" auch einen umfangreichen Multiplayer-Part haben wird, versteht sich von selbst. Ob es jedoch auch einen Battle-Royale-Modus gibt ist zumindest noch nicht bekannt. Mehr Informationen dürfte es in rund zwei Wochen zur E3 geben.
