For a year now, the popular gaming format Game Two has been facing closure when its current contract with ZDFneo expires. Now, production company Rocket Beans Entertainment has made a decision. The Game Two format will continue in a modified form and will be financed by the Rocket Beans Supporters Club, among others.

This decision will come as a huge relief to many fans, and the continuation of the Game Two format is also an important milestone for Hamburg-based Beans Entertainment. However, to make this possible, there will be massive changes to the concept. The existing content will remain freely available, but new content will be monetised in future.

Beans Entertainment is also taking this opportunity to once again thank ZDFneo for its many years of cooperation – Game Two started 2021 (in German). It is not a matter of course that the Game Two YouTube channel, including all previous episodes and over 500,000 subscribers, will simply be allowed to continue.

In order to survive in the future, Beans Entertainment is pursuing a two-pronged financing strategy. On the one hand, it wants to enter into strategic partnerships with brand partners who want to position themselves in a credible editorial environment. On the other hand, it is seeking direct support from the community. This is to be achieved in particular through the Rocket Beans Supporters Club.

The Game Two format is set to restart at the end of August after the upcoming gamescom. The current partnership with ZDFneo will continue until this summer. It was announced almost exactly a year ago that the long-standing partnership would be ending. Since then, Beans Entertainment has been working hard to find a new TV partner, but ultimately without success.

The decision to continue on its own also brings things full circle in a way. At the end of 2014, Viacom surprisingly cancelled Game One (in German), which was then the most traditional games TV format on German television. The production company, which was still operating under the name Rocket Beans Entertainment at the time, made a virtue of necessity and launched (in German) its own 24-hour streaming channel on Twitch called Rocket Beans TV.

Since then, Rocket Beans has continued to evolve and reinvent itself. To mark its tenth anniversary, it was rebranded as Beans Entertainment in early 2025. The production business, which also includes Game Two, has since been operating under the name Midflight. In addition, there are the in-house channel activities under the Rocket Beans TV brand and the artist management unit astronauts.gg.
