Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Sets Sail in July
In July, players will be able to raise the black flag as Ubisoft prepares to launch the remake, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. Built from the ground up using the latest Anvil engine, the game will offer enhanced gameplay and additional content.
Yesterday evening, Ubisoft officially announced Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, arguably one of the industry's worst-kept secrets. This remake of the 2013 game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be released on 9 July 2026 for Ubisoft+, PC (Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The Standard Edition of the game is priced at €59.99. The Launch Edition will be available in retail stores at launch at a suggested retail price of €59.99. This includes the main game, a 34-page art book and a world map poster. Media Markt and Saturn are offering a SteelBook to customers who pre-order. There is also a Deluxe Edition, priced at €69.99 and only available digitally, which includes the main game, the "Master Assassin Character Pack" and the "Master Assassin Maritime Pack". A Collector's Edition is also planned, priced at €199.99. This includes all the content from the Deluxe Edition, plus a 31 cm Edward Kenway statue, a metal pin featuring Edward, a SteelBook case, a fabric world map and more.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft Singapore in collaboration with the following co-development studios: Ubisoft Barcelona, Ubisoft Belgrade, Ubisoft Bordeaux, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Chengdu, Ubisoft Da Nang, Ubisoft India, Ubisoft Kyiv, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Philippines, Ubisoft Quebec, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Sofia.
Resynced has been built from the ground up using the latest Anvil engine. It features improved graphics, better lighting (similar to that in Assassin's Creed Shadows, with ray tracing) and more detailed environments. The combat system has been overhauled to offer more fluid action and emphasise parries. New features include refined stealth mechanics (manual crouch), enhanced parkour elements and three new officers to join the crew. There is also new narrative content, including side stories featuring Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet.
During the reveal showcase, Ubisoft also confirmed that the artist Woodkid is returning to the Assassin's Creed series to collaborate on a reimagined title set to be unveiled later this year.
