With five exhibition booths at Indie Arena Booth, the central German state of Hesse builds on its premiere from last year and sends indie studios from the region to gamescom 2024. Deadline for nominations is 21 April. Economics Minister Kaweh Mansoori emphasises the success of last year's experiment.

As part of the Indie Arena Booth, the central German state of Hesse will once more send indie studios to gamescom free of charge. This year, Hesse Economics Minister Kaweh Mansoori emphasises that the gamescom presence will be expanded after the successful premiere in 2023.

Five indie studies from Hesse will be sent to Cologne in August free of charge. Studios can nominate themselves through the regular Indie Arena Booth contact form with the Keyword "Hessen". A jury will select five winners. The studios will not only be able to go to gamescom and exhibit at the Booth fully paid, they will also be integrated into the Hessian communication channels for the fair. Deadline for the applications is 21 April 2024.

Mansoori: "The games industry is an important part of the creative and cultural industries in Hesse. We have set ourselves the goal of supporting the visibility of this rapidly growing sector of the economy. I am therefore delighted that Hesse will be represented at Gamescom again."

"Especially for smaller studios, subsidised trade fair participation is an important factor on the road to success. That is why we will be present in Cologne this year with up to five Hessian games companies. Participating in the trade fair also creates important visibility and valuable contacts for small Hessian games studios - especially with the gamers who ultimately buy their games," explains Folke Mühlhölzer, Chairman of the Management Board of HA Hessen Agentur. "Our Creative Industries Office is organising the presence at Gamescom for the second time and in close coordination with the industry."

Daniela Hartmann, Project Manager Creative Industries Hesse: "It is important to us to show the great potential of the Hessian industry at the world's largest games trade fair. We are delighted to be travelling to Cologne this year with up to five highly innovative games from smaller companies. The increase in places compared to the previous year shows: Things are happening in Hessen as a games location!"
