The transaction is part of its strategy to refocus its portfolio to areas where the company delivers the strongest content, says Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. “We’re proud of what the teams have achieved over the years and wish our friends at Limbic all the best with their projects as an independent studio,” commented Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.

The sale does indeed come as a surprise, even though the title Park Beyond did not fully live up to expectations. It is also unclear who the buyer is. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe refers to a private investor specializing in video games. With their help, the studio wants to continue its journey in the specialist segment of building and management simulation games.

According to company information Limbic Entertainment will continue operating under its current leadership and will retain its studio name and identity.

Bandai Namco Entertainment acquired a stake in the studio in 2021 (in German) when it commissioned Limbic Entertainment to develop two games. A year later (in German), the publisher acquired a majority stake in the studio. At the end of 2024, there was a change in studio management after the founders stepped down.

Limbic Entertainment developed Park Beyond for Bandai Namco Entertainment, among other titles. Prior to that, the studio worked on Tropico 6, various Might & Magic games, and Dungeon Empires.
