For the third year in a row, games vinyl label Black Screen Records has broken its gamescom sales records. CEO Kevin Schulz attributes the growth to partnerships with Laced Records and Devolver, but especially to rising interest in anime vinyls.

Once again, Cologne vinyl label Black Screen Records (BSR) has broken its gamescom sales record in the merchandise hall 5.2. With almost 25 per cent higher sales than on last year’s fair, the label has seen special growth due to its anime collaborations, 8 out of their 10 bestsellers being anime soundtracks. “Frieren (Milan Records) has been by far our best-selling title, followed by two brand-new Ado 'Best of' vinyl (Universal Music Japan), Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Milan), Evangelion Finally (Milan) and BSR's latest release, the 'Takeo Endboss' 7" single by the Japanese yodeling master Takeo Ischi/Ishii who also visited our booth to sign some records for us”, owner and CEO Kevin Schulz explained.

This year, the BSR booth at gamescom partnered not only with Devolver and Cult of the Lamb, but also with US music label Laced Records.
