More than 100 guests from politics and business celebrated the opening of the SAE Campus in Nuremberg. In addition to SAE Germany CEO Chris Müller, Nuremberg’s mayor Marcus König also attended the inauguration of the tenth SAE location in Germany.

The new SAE Institute in Nuremberg was officially inaugurated on 22 May with a festive opening ceremony. Over 100 guests, along with alumni and staff, celebrated the launch of the media school in the new Kohlenhof Quarter — a central location just south of Nuremberg’s old town. The new facility is part of a broader revitalisation project for the area. An optimal learning environment for up to 250 students has been created across 1,200 square metres.

Courses began in the 2024/25 winter semester, offering programmes in Audio Engineering, Film Production, Game Art, Games Programming, VFX & 3D Animation, and Voice Acting. The curriculum will be gradually expanded over time. For example, a new department for Content Creation & Online Marketing is set to launch in September 2025.

Nuremberg’s mayor, Marcus König, officially opened the event. In his welcoming speech, he greeted the SAE Institute on behalf of the Franconian metropolis and highlighted the important role the institution plays in supporting the media and creative industries in the region: “Nuremberg and its surrounding metropolitan area are among the strongest economic regions in Germany. Our media and digital economy in particular is developing dynamically, and the demand for well-trained specialists continues to rise. The new SAE Institute will help meet this growing need. It’s a valuable addition to our city. We warmly welcome all students and the team to our unique city,” said König.
