Das Münchner Medienunternehmen CTM und RTL 2 wollen "Yu-Gi-Oh!" nach Deutschland holen. Der weltweite Erfolg beruht nicht zuletzt auf den Videospielen und Sammelkarten von Konami.

CTM Concept - TV & Merchandising will nach "Digimon", "Dragon Ball Z" und "Hamtaro Tales" nun auch "Yu-Gi-Oh!" in Deutschland zum Erfolg machen. Die Vermarktung des Fernostimports finde Hand in Hand mit TV-Sender RTL 2 statt. Der Start der entsprechenden Animé-Serie ist für Herbst 2002 anvisiert. Auf Hochtouren laufe derzeit die Vermarktung der Nebenrechte. In Abstimmung mit Hauptlizenznehmer Mattel würden CTM und RTL 2 derzeit an einer Marketingstrategie feilen, um das Thema optimal im deutschen Markt zu platzieren. Der Erfolg von "Yu-Gi-Oh!" in Japan und USA beruht nicht zuletzt auch auf den Videospielen und den Sammelkarten von Konami.
