In mid-February, the expert jury of the Deutscher Computerspielpreis (DCP German Computer Games Award) will convene and narrow down the submissions in most categories for the main jury, which will meet later and make the final decisions. One decision has already been made: Prof. Dr. Sabiha Ghellal will chair the jury this year.
Sabiha Ghellal is a professor of experience and game design at the Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart (University of Applied Sciences in Media Stuttgart), has extensive expertise in the field of gaming and commented on her new role: "The Deutscher Computerspielpreis (DCP; German Computer Games Award) honours the most outstanding games made in Germany. I feel honoured and very pleased to be able to preside over the DCP jury in 2025. Exciting weeks lie ahead of me and the jury's excellent experts, during which we will review a wide range of impressive titles from Germany."
Most of the DCP categories are awarded in a two-stage process. In this process, the expert jury narrows down the titles submitted for a later session of the main jury and, if necessary, makes a recommendation. The final decisions are made during the main jury session. The composition of the DCP jury changes every year, as members are only appointed for a fixed term. The following 40 people have been appointed to the expert jury:
