HanseMerkur is expanding its e-sports commitment with a strategic partnership with Uniliga. The insurer recently became the naming partner of the Valorant Challengers GSA.

The HanseMerkur Insurance Group and Uniliga are starting a strategic partnership on 1 April, initially for one year. The aim of the cooperation is to strengthen the perception of HanseMerkur as an employer brand by adding e-sports to the insurer's employer branding measures. The cooperation will focus on targeting e-sports talent among students as potential employees. HanseMerkur will play a key role in talent development through individual coaching and personality training. At the same time, HanseMerkur will be present in selected broadcast formats on the Uniliga Twitch channels as well as at the offline final events and the e-sports conference.

"The cooperation with Uniliga is a valuable addition to our existing partnerships in the e-sports sector. As a dynamic and growing insurance company with many exciting and innovative tasks, we are always interested in making contacts and exchanging ideas with young, dedicated and tech-savvy people. In this way, we can present ourselves as an attractive employer offering exciting career opportunities, especially in the STEM professions," explains Peter Ahlers, Head of Human Resources at HanseMerkur. "The team concept plays an important role for us - after all, our corporate philosophy is based on the principle of community and we live by the motto 'hand in hand'."

"Having recently been introduced as the naming sponsor of the leading Valorant league in the GSA region, HanseMerkur will now be fully integrated into the Uniliga - both in this category and in the strategy games," says Bruno Latorre, Business Development and Partnership Manager of the Uniliga. "Their presence on our players' jerseys is just one aspect of this; they will also be present with creative campaigns at our Uniliga finals. We are delighted to welcome HanseMerkur as a new partner in talent development and to break new ground in e-sports together."
