Electronic Arts has been using a proprietary anti-cheat solution in its titles since 2023. The company has now presented a new report and positioned its solution as EA Javelin Anti-Cheat, which is active in 14 EA games.

Cheaters are a threat to every multiplayer game ecosystem, as they can frustrate the community to the point of abandoning a game. For years, companies have been working on technologies to detect and prevent cheating. Electronic Arts is now going one step further and turning its solution into a brand. The company has unveiled EA Javelin Anticheat together with new data.

The solution has been in use since 2022, although the name has not been actively communicated to the public until now. According to EA, the solution now supports 14 EA games, including brands such as Battlefield, Madden and EA Sports FC. "Our mission is to foster a gaming environment where skill and sportsmanship are the only paths to victory. EA Javelin Anticheat is a testament to our commitment to fair play and integrity," says Elise Murphy, Head of Game Security at EA.

EA Javelin Anti-Cheat is a PC solution that is continuously being developed and adapted to new technological developments. According to EA's new ‘Fighting for Fairness: Anti-Cheat Progress Report,’ the presence of cheaters in Battlefield 2042 has been halved since its introduction in autumn 2024. However, the report also shows how big the problem is: according to EA, the solution has prevented 33 million cheat attempts across 2.2 billion PC gaming sessions since its launch.
