RB Leipzig has claimed victory in the Club Championship of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) for the third time, defeating Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the final. The individual competition will conclude at the end of April.

The Club Championship of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) has reached its conclusion. In last weekend’s final, RB Leipzig overcame Bayer Leverkusen to secure the team title for the third time, following their previous wins in 2022 and 2023. On their path to the championship, Leipzig defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach, who had earlier knocked out FC Bayern in the intermediate round, despite Bayern finishing first in the Southeast Division during the league phase. Leverkusen reached the final by beating SC Paderborn 07, the reigning VBL Club Champion of 2024.

"Congratulations to the entire RB Leipzig team. After a dominant group stage performance, they remained unbeaten across both final matchdays and are now the well-deserved new German club champions. The final tournament of the VBL Club Championship by WOW was a fitting conclusion to a thrilling season in which the top teams have closed the gap even further. A big thank you goes to all participating clubs, their players and officials, as well as our partner EA SPORTS for their continued support of the competition," said Bastian Zuber, Managing Director of DFL Digital Sports and DFL Director of Digital Business Development, who presented the championship trophy.

While the team competition is decided, the VBL season is not yet over. The playoffs for the individual title are still ahead. Following an online phase, the individual finals will take place on 26–27 April as an offline event at BASE in Cologne.
