Electronic Arts reported slightly lower revenues and net income for the fiscal year just ended, despite major successes with EA Sports, Sims and Split Fiction. The outlook for 2026 remains cautious, notwithstanding skate. and Battlefield.

Electronic Arts has presented its results for the past fiscal year 2025 (April 2024 to March 2025). Total net revenues were $7.463 billion (€6.57 billion), approximately 1.3 percent less than in the previous fiscal year. Net income was $1.121 billion (€986 million), almost 12 percent less than in the previous year. Live Services accounted for 73% of total FY25 net bookings ($7.355 billion; €6.47 billion).

The publisher highlights the EA Sports portfolio with another year of record net bookings in FY25, as well as EA's American Football franchise, which exceeded expectations and reached over $1 billion in net bookings in the fiscal year. EA Sports FC saw double-digit growth in player monetisation following the mid-January gameplay update - the game had generated less revenue than hoped for in Q3. The Sims franchise, celebrating its 25th birthday, continued its momentum with double-digit growth in the quarter, including the re-release of classics in The Sims Legacy Collection. Split Fiction has sold nearly 4 million units since its launch in March.

"The incredible success of College Football and the enduring strength of FC drove another record year for EA Sports, while The Sims capped FY25 with a historic Q4," said Andrew Wilson, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Electronic Arts. "As we look to the future, we're confident in our ability to execute across a deep pipeline - beginning this summer with the highly anticipated reveal of Battlefield, a pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment."

"Q4 marked a strong finish to FY25, with broad-based momentum across the portfolio positioning the business for accelerated growth," said Stuart Canfield, CFO of Electronic Arts. "As we enter FY26, we remain focused on disciplined execution as we build toward a slate of groundbreaking upcoming releases."

In FY26, Electronic Arts will launch skate. (dynamic live service game) and a new Battlefield game. Andrew Wilson: "Backed by the largest Battlefield team in our history and grounded in community collaboration, we remain firmly on track for a FY26 release, with a major global reveal later this summer."

Net revenue is expected to be approximately $7.1 billion to $7.5 billion, with the upper end of the range comparable to net revenue in fiscal year 2025. Net income is expected to be in the range of $795 million to $974 million, well below net income in the fiscal year just ended.

Stuart Canfield, Chief Financial Officer: "Our assumptions for FY26 reflect four key factors: first, we expect a Battlefield launch within the fiscal year. Second, we expect growth to be driven by our EA Sports portfolio, The Sims franchise, and the launches of Battlefield and skate. Third, while FX remains volatile, our guide assumes an approximate 1 point headwind from FX. Please see our earnings slides for more detail on our currency assumptions. And fourth, we expect an approximate 5 Point headwind from catalog and Apex Legends."

Electronic Arts recently announced layoffs of up to 400 employees and cancelled several game projects, including two at Respawn Entertainment (an extraction shooter in the Titanfall universe). Codemasters' WRC rally series will also be discontinued. These moves are part of a strategic refocusing on the company's core brands.
