Game server hoster Nitrado has acquired Swiss company Multicraft from Burgdorf. With that, the Karlsruhe company of CEO Raphael Stange enhances its B2B sector to rent out services to other game server hosters. Multicraft founder Daniel Hofer will stay on board after the acquisition.

Karlsruhe server hoster and renter Nitrado has bought Swiss company Multicraft. Multicraft is specialized in Software-as-a-Service for the rental and operation of game servers, enhancing the portfolio of Nitrado to include a broader B2B aspect: After gamers and games studios, Nitrado's customers now also include other game server hosters. Nitrado says is will now be able to implement improvements and functional enhancements from their own services in the Multicraft service as well.

This benefits not only the customers of our US subsidiaries Apex Hosting and MCProHosting, but also Nitrado's user base, i.e. game developers and players, as well as our new customers - other game server hosters," says Nitrado CEO Raphael Stange. "The acquisition of Multicraft is a decisive step in our strategy to continue to grow, expand our target groups and extend our competitive advantage."

Multicraft founder Daniel Hofer will stay on board the company as well, Nitrado says.

With the acquisition of Multicraft, Nitrado is wants to position itself to capitalise on the expected growth in the live service games and multiplayer games segment in the coming years. Raphael Stange adds: "By diversifying our business model beyond our own market share in game server hosting, we are opening up a completely new business area. This underlines our strong potential for growth and stability and is a great signal to our team, our customers and the entire online gaming community."
