One third of all Germans look at whether a device is suitable for gaming when buying consumer electronics hardware. This is the result of a survey conducted by the German games industry association game in cooperation with YouGov Germany.

Gaming capabilities have a great influence on the decision to buy a smartphone. 38 per cent of all Germans consider gaming capabilities before buying a smartphone. This is the result of new data published by game - The German Games Industry Association (game - Verband der deutschen Games-Branche) based on a survey conducted by YouGov Germany. The representative survey was conducted in November 2023.

For exactly one third of all Germans, gaming features are also a decisive purchase criterion for televisions. On average, 31 per cent of respondents said that gaming features are important to them when it comes to consumer electronics.

"Around 6 out of 10 Germans play games, so gaming capabilities are often taken into account when buying a smartphone, TV or other device. This also applies to many devices that are not immediately associated with gaming. The fact that the TV or sound system at home also meets the special requirements for games now plays a very important role for many people in Germany when buying consumer electronics," says Felix Falk, Managing Director of game.
