Lionel Lovisa and Gary Paulini To Lead Limbic Entertainment
Limbic Entertainment is undergoing a major leadership transition as founders and managing directors Stephan Winter and Alexander Frey step down from their active roles at the end of the year. Lionel Lovisa and Gary Paulini will take over as the studio's new leaders.
Founded in 2002, Studio Limbic Entertainment has been majority-owned by Bandai Namco since the fall of 2022, after the company acquired a minority stake in the Park Beyond maker the year before.
Winter and Frey continued to lead the studio after the acquisition, but they have now announced their decision to retire from active management. This change will take effect at the end of the year.
Taking the helm as Managing Director is Lionel Lovisa, who joined Limbic two years ago as General Studio Manager. Prior to this, he served as Director of Production and Marketing for IP Creation at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.
Supporting him will be Gary Paulini, who steps into the role of Chief Development Officer (CDO). Amond other things Paulini will oversee game development, studio operations, and team expansion.
Despite the leadership transition, Limbic Entertainment is not scaling back its activities. The studio aims to continue its growth and maintain its reputation as a key player in the gaming industry.
"Stepping away from Limbic's day-to-day operations after 27 years was not an easy decision for Alex and me, but we truly believe there couldn’t be a better time to do so. Limbic Entertainment is stronger than ever, thriving with its largest team in its history and with very exciting projects on the horizon. With Lionel Lovisa and Gary Paulini leading the way, we are confident that the company is in exceptional hands. We couldn’t ask for better successors to continue Limbic’s journey of success", Stephan Winter said.
And Lionel Lovisa added: "I am honored to step into this role and continue building on the foundation of the incredible development studio that Alexander and Stephan have established with Limbic Entertainment. With our talented team and the support of Bandai Namco, I am confident that, building on the remarkable achievements made since Bandai Namco's acquisition and me joining the Limbic team two years ago, we will elevate Limbic Entertainment to even greater heights."
