The German Developer Award 2024 (DEP) will be presented in Cologne on 3 December 2024. Developers, publishers and newcomers can now submit their games.

On 3 December 2024, the best computer games of the year from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be honoured with the German Developer Award (DEP: Deutscher Entwicklerpreis). This year, the awards ceremony will take place for the first time at the Gürzenich in Cologne's Old Town.

Developers, publishers and newcomers can now submit their games at www.deutscherentwicklerpreis.de. Details of the rules, submission procedures and evaluation criteria can be found here. This phase ends on 2 September 2024 at 12:00 noon. The submission period for the Ubisoft Newcomer Award, a special category of the German Developer Award, will also begin shortly.

The categories for which games can now be submitted: - Best Indie Game - Best Casual Game - Best Game Beyond Entertainment - Best Game Design - Best Audio Design - Best Graphics - Best Story - Best Technical Achievement - Innovation Award

The German Developer Award was established in 2004 and is the oldest award for the development of outstanding computer games from German-speaking countries. Since 2022, the event has been organised by games.nrw e.V., the association of the digital games industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. The German Game Developer Award is sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, KölnBusiness and game - the German Games Industry Association.
