The Early Access update, Wake of the Water, was scheduled for release earlier, but Keen Games required additional time for final adjustments. This update for Enshrouded features dynamic voxel water, which was the number one requested feature, and with it comes swimming, a fishing mini-game, the ability to water plants with a watering can or an irrigation system, and basebuilding within, around, under water.

There are also significant improvements to combat. "Everything from attacks, armour, items, and regeneration to tweaking UI, regeneration rates, additional skills, and spells have been reevaluated to further refine the fighting experience. Combat remains flexible and customizable, and with the addition of several new weapons, spells, abilities, and items to utilize in the update, players will find a vast range of fighting options," said the developers.

Since its launch into Early Access on Steam in January 2024, over four million players have joined Enshrouded. Keen Games is continuing to pour development resources into the 1.0 launch of Enshrouded on PC and consoles, with a release date of 2026 in sight.
