Games & Politics Returns, Focusing on How Creators Influence Public Opinion
The 'Games & Politics' streaming format, organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the esports player foundation, is returning on 6 August 2025 to the Xperion in Berlin. This time, the focus will be on the influence of content creators on public opinion.
Entitled "Politics in the Feed: How Creators Shape Opinion", presenter Jona "JustJohnny" Schmitt will discuss reach, responsibility, and the influence of digital content on political culture with guests from politics, academia, and the games scene - live from Xperion Berlin on 6 August 2025 at 16:00. Guests will include Nina Weise (Head of Social Team at Junge Union Deutschland), Joachim Ebmeyer (CDU Member of the German Bundestag), Daniel "broeki" Broekmann (gaming influencer) and Lucia "lvcia" (content creator).
"Young people's lives take place online today, so political education must start there," explains Daniel Feldhaus, Political Communication Officer at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. "With Games & Politics, we are creating a space where young people and digital opinion leaders can come together on an equal footing to encourage more reflection, discussion and democratic debate online."
"Xperion is not only a place to experience digital culture; it is also a platform for socially relevant topics," says Robert Echtermeyer, Head of Politics and External Relations at MediaMarktSaturn, the company that operates Xperion. "Gaming is not apolitical. Formats such as Games & Politics demonstrate the importance of taking a stand in digital spaces."
"Creators reach young target groups like no one else - directly, emotionally, and authentically," emphasises Clara Dietrich, Head of Marketing & Communications. "With Games & Politics, we are creating an environment that encourages people to leverage this reach for social engagement and democratic values."
