The Flensburg-based company lvlup!HR specialises in combining gaming and esports with HR topics. At the beginning of July, lvlup!HR demonstrated how career counselling can be combined with esports at a training camp organised by the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA; Federal Employment Agency) in Oberhausen. The focus is on identifying core competencies such as communication skills and resilience.

Andrea Nahles also attended the event. The chairwoman of the BA's executive board and former federal labour minister did not miss the opportunity to sit down at the computer and play herself. "Today, digital skills are needed in almost every profession. The use of gaming elements in careers advice to make young people's strengths and skills visible beyond traditional school grades is a modern and useful addition to our careers advice," said Andrea Nahles.
