Esports Cooperation Agreement Between FIFA and Konami

Konami Digital Entertainment and FIFA have announced an esports collaboration. Two FIFAe World Cups will take place on mobile and console later this year. The matches will be played in eFootball. Among the member associations taking part in the first FIFAe World Cup are many big names, but not Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Konami Digital Entertainment and FIFA have announced an esports collaboration. Two "FIFAe World Cup featuring eFootball" on mobile and console will take place later this year, each crowning a FIFAe World Champion. The participating member associations for the first FIFAe World Cup featuring eFootball on mobile and console are Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, England, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Republic, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand and Turkey. The member associations of Germany, Austria and Switzerland are not part of this collaboration.

In the first year of this collaboration, 18 nations have been invited to participate in the finals. "Nations are selected based on different factors such as player base and previous performances of competitors from the respective countries," said Konami. Qualifying for the FIFAe World Cup begins today around the world. The aim of this collaboration is to further strengthen the global football community through esports.
