The first funding round of Zurich Movie Foundation’s new games funding has closed and the funding recipients are public now. The funding program had only started in August 2025 with registration for the first round.

In this first funding round, 69 applications were submitted with a total requested amount of CHF 5,182,513 (about 5.685.102€). A total of 12 out of 67 approved applications were supported by the expert committees “Digital Culture – Without Market Potential” and “Digital Culture – With Market Potential,” with a total of CHF 625,746 (about 686,429€).

  • Etter Studio for Things: 29,848 CHF
  • lauflauf for tanztanz: 40,000 CHF
  • Piehl Design for Green Cockpit: 75,000 CHF

Prototype with market potential

  • David Stark for Biomechanical Repair Job: 70,898 CHF
  • Kerzoven for If Red Then Stop: 75,000 CHF
  • LUAL Games for Eldritch Empathy: 75,000 CHF
  • Rare Crab Studio for Lucky Castaway: 75,000 CHF
  • Stray Fawn Studio for Infiny Bounce: 40,000 CHF

Production & Go to Market with market potential

  • 5am Games for Cowboy Witches From Outer Space: 72,000 CHF
  • Obleak Games for In Full Bloom: 45,000 CHF

Strengthening the ecosystem

  • Blindflug Studios for Game & Film in Dialogue: 24,400 ChF
  • Burninglights for House of Change Festival 2026: 3,600 CHF
