Following the huge success of CloverPit, which was reported on by GamesMarkt, another game from Future Friends Games has got off to a strong start. This is Slots & Daggers (€7.79), developed by Berlin-based solo developer Friedemann. Released on 24 October 2025, the game reached a peak of 2,235 concurrent players on Steam over the weekend - the second-highest figure for the publisher, after CloverPit's 25,190. Friedemann's previous game, Summerhouse, recorded a peak of 528 concurrent users.
Another similarity with CloverPit is that this game also uses gambling-like mechanics, albeit in a completely different way. It is a compact retro-fantasy roguelike in which battles play out on a slot machine. "In combat, your actions are decided by a spin of the wheel: attacks, potions and spells are represented by symbols on the slot machine," wrote the publisher. It features a campaign that takes four to eight hours to complete. The game was developed over a period of six months using Unity, C#, Blender and Photoshop.
Friedemann is an independent game creator based in Berlin. He is one of the three founders of Grizzly Games, alongside his friends from university, Paul Schnepf and Jonas Tyroller. Together, they created Superflight and Islanders. He also collaborated with Thomas van den Berg, creator of Kingdoms, on Pizza Possum. Last year, he released his first solo project, Summerhouse, with publishing support from Future Friends Games. This partnership has continued with Slots & Daggers.
