Funding Approvals for WastedStudios and King Art
The federal government has approved funding of €350,000 for the two studios King Art and WastedStudios. This brings the number of approvals this year to 16.
The new entries became visible after a change apparently meant that no current funding projects from the games sector were available for several weeks. Now, the entries are not only visible again, but also show two funding commitments that have not yet been confirmed.
The Munich-based studio WastedStudios will receive a total of €135,621 in funding for its project Restless.
King Art Games from Bremen, known for Iron Harvest 1920+ and The Dwarves, among others, will receive €219,117 in funding for the project Rundeisen 2.
Even though funding will continue to flow, the expected large boost in funding commitments is still pending. The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, which is now responsible for games funding, has published a new call for proposals in July. However, the submission process was not resumed until 1 August. Even though the aim is to process applications quickly, it will still take a few days before the first commitments from the new submissions are announced.
