Federal funding for Black Pants Studio in Kassel
A small grant from the German government goes to Kassel: Black Pants Studio, the team behind "About Love, Hate & The Other Ones" and "Tiny and Big", will receive almost 30,000 euros for "Kalle und die Zeit".
Mobile games have become relatively rare on the funding lists of the federal and state governments. Now the BMWK has once again provided funding for a mobile games studio. Black Pants Studio, the Kassel-based studio behind "About Love, Hate & The Other Ones 2", "Useless Cowboy" and "Blown Away: Secret of the Wind", will receive a total of 28,570 euros over a period of 16 months for the project "Kalle und die Zeit".
Whether or not this is actually a mobile-only title is of course not certain, as Black Pants Studio has also developed the PC game On Rusty Trails, and the team is also behind Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers. However, the relatively small amount of funding suggests that this may be more of a mobile title.
The funding application was received by the BMWK before the application for federal funding was stopped. New applications cannot be submitted at this time due to the freeze.
