Federal Games Funding Provides €3.6 Million for 8 Applications

A total of seven projects across eight applications have now been approved for federal games funding, following the end of the recent application freeze. Further positive decisions are expected shortly.
The German federal government has committed €3,599,352 in funding for games projects, spread across eight approved applications. These applications were submitted by six different studios, supporting a total of seven distinct projects.
The smallest grants – €42,112 and €96,746 – were awarded to Seetree GmbH in Zülpich (North Rhine-Westphalia) and mixed.world GmbH in Berlin. The two companies are collaborating on the Sea4U project, which will now receive nearly €140,000 in federal support. Funatics, based in Schermbeck (NRW), has been granted €672,992 for its project Night of the Romans.
The Worms-based publisher Kalypso Media has secured a total of €1.37 million in funding through two of its studio subsidiaries. Claymore Studios in Darmstadt (Hesse) will receive €570,906 for the Commandos: Origins DLC Season Pass. Realmforge Studios in Munich has been awarded two grants: €425,259 for the Coven project and €737,031 for the DLC Season Pass for Dungeons 4.
Munich-based Aesir Interactive has been awarded the highest total, receiving €1.42 million in federal support for two projects. The Gyros project has been granted €678,900, while the Scan project will receive €737,031.
As GamesMarkt learned during the DCP, additional positive funding decisions are in the pipeline but have not yet been publicly announced. More good news is expected soon.
