Belvedere Celebrates On Site Game Party After Roblox Success
Since its launch in December, At Leap, the Roblox game created by Austria’s Belvedere Museum, has attracted an impressive 1.5 million players. That’s reason enough to celebrate this unique approach to art with a special game party at the Belvedere including a live Twitch stream on 12 June.
Playing Art Leap on site, is one of many reasons for the Belvedere Game Party, taking place on 12 June as well as insights into the creation of the game. Guided tours of the Upper Belvedere will open up new perspectives on the original paintings that serve as virtual backdrops in the game - including The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. Klimt also plays a major role in Art Leap itself, not only because you can slip into the role of one of the painter's assistants in one of the mini-games.
The experience itself has been online at Roblox since December 2024 and enjoys great popularity. Art Leap has been played 1.5 million times since its launch, a considerable number for an experience that is not a classic game. The museum is celebrating its success with the Belvedere Game Party planned for 12 June, for which it is also cooperating with ORF Radio FM4. The FM4 Spielekammerl show will broadcast the party live on Twitch.
Art Leap is already the second game with which the museum aims to reach younger target groups in particular with an unusual approach to art. With The Fantastic Palastics, the Belvedere has created a mobile AR game with which you can search the palace gardens of the Upper Belvedere for six exotic animals that Prince Eugene once kept in the menagerie, one of the earliest zoo facilities in Europe.
