Codecks Secures €1m Funding to Drive Growth
One million Euros in funding will ensure that Codecks can continue to grow in 2025. The project management tool specifically for game developers is being developed in Berlin.
Codecks, the project management tool for game developers built in Berlin, has received a €700,000 grant from the European Union's Creative Europe Media programme (GamesMarkt reported), bringing the total investment to €1 million, with an additional €300,000 from the company itself.
Since its founding in 2019, Codecks (website) has sought to reimagine project management through a playful, game-inspired interface. The platform's cards and decks system, community integration and other collaborative features have made it a tool for over 60,000 users, including Unity, Gravity, Warpfrog, Free Lives and more. This investment will enable Codecks to expand its capabilities, introduce new features and enhance existing ones to make project management more engaging and efficient for development teams of all sizes. The funds will be used to expand the team, improve Codecks' infrastructure and enhance the user experience.
"We're committed to helping game developers make games in a way that's both effective and enjoyable," says co-founder Riad Djemili. "This grant opens doors for us to significantly improve and expand Codecks, amplifying the tools we offer and creating new ones, making project management as fun and efficient as possible."
Despite its rapid growth and this funding, Codecks remains an independent company committed to its original vision. "We developed Codecks as a love letter to the game development community," says co-founder and Lead Developer Daniel Berndt. "With this grant, we're empowered to make that vision even bigger, with features that make Codecks more valuable for every team member - whatever their project, wherever they are in the world."
Codecks recently welcomed Gonçalo Trindade, former Marketing Lead at PlaytestCloud, as Head of Marketing. With new features on the horizon, Codecks aims to make the future of game development more connected, collaborative and creatively fulfilling.
