In May 2026, three games received game Sales Awards from game - the German Games Industry Association in recognition of their sales success in Germany.

Following its Gold Award in May for surpassing 100,000 sales, Forza Horizon 6 — developed by Playground Games and published by Microsoft/Xbox — has now received a Platinum Award for exceeding 200,000 sales. The racing game, which is set in Japan, was released on 19 May 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Meanwhile, 007 First Light from IO Interactive has been awarded a Gold Award. This espionage action-adventure game was released on 26 May 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Last June, the association presented a Platinum Award to Nintendo's Mario Kart World.

The game Sales Award is presented by game, the German Games Industry Association, to recognise the best-selling computer and video games in Germany. It is based on the latest sales figures from Video Games Europe's industry panel, GSD (Game Sales Data). Titles that sell more than 100,000, 200,000, 400,000 or 600,000 copies across all platforms in Germany within the first 12 months of release are eligible for a game Sales Award in the Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum or Multi-Platinum categories.
