RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business is a standalone first-person shooter developed by the Polish studio Teyon. Set in the same universe as the 2023 game [RoboCop: Rogue City](/game/robocop-rogue-city), it can be played without any prior knowledge of its predecessor.

In RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business, the famous law enforcer – part man, part machine, all cop – returns. The game is set between the films RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, and after the events of RoboCop: Rogue City. The central location this time is the OmniTower, OCP's new housing project for the people of Old Detroit. However, this huge residential complex has been taken over by a group of mercenaries who intend to transform it into a deadly fortress. With the police overwhelmed, RoboCop is called in to deliver justice – in this respect, the game's basic scenario is very similar to the film Dredd (2012). 

To accomplish his mission, RoboCop can rely on his ever-present and somewhat overpowered Auto-9, as well as new weapons and his enormous cybernetic strength. As players climb the tower, they will face (rather annoying) flying drones, heavily armoured squads, jetpack-equipped enemies, and katana-wielding cyborgs. New weapons are available in combat, such as the cryo cannon, which can freeze enemies. When an enemy gets too close, players can perform devastating finishing moves, such as smashing an opponent's skull against the nearest concrete wall. However, the Auto-9 is so powerful that there is little need for other weapons or alternative combat tactics -  the main character becomes stronger as the game progresses thanks to skills for RoboCop and upgrade options for the Auto-9.

Compared to RoboCop: Rogue City, this shooter focuses more on action and combat. Players typically enter rooms and mow down threats like a tank on two legs, complete with snappy one-liners. The gameplay is brutal and somewhat dull, but overall solid. Rogue City offered more variety, especially in terms of scenarios. In Unfinished Business, however, the action often takes place in concrete corridors, with too few visual highlights to break up the gameplay. Unfinished Business clearly focuses on brutal, linear action.

In between action sequences and shooter combat, players can scan their surroundings with RoboCop vision to search for evidence (and XP) or solve environmental puzzles. However, the quality of other side quests varies greatly, and the supporting characters are mostly forgettable. Nevertheless, there are sometimes morally challenging decisions to be made. A flashback mission is much better. For the first time in a video game set in the RoboCop universe, players can step into the shoes of Alex Murphy before he became RoboCop. Murphy is voiced once again by Peter Weller, the original actor from the first films. And during a special mission, players take control of the heavily armed ED-209 and engage in a trial by fire against waves of human and robotic enemies. However, the game could have benefited from more moments like this. Overall, the game feels slightly unpolished, with bugs, glitches, and performance issues. These issues give the game an unfinished feel.

RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business was released for PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on 17 July 2025. Physical versions are available on consoles, priced at $29.99/€29.99/£24.99, and a digital version is available on PC. A Mac release is also planned for a later date.

##### Conclusion

RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business is a brutal, action-packed game aimed at fans of the original RoboCop: Rogue City. In essence, it offers more of the same, for better or worse.
