Matthias Miersch is a Guest at the #gamechanger Talk on the 2025 Election
The upcoming federal election will shape the future of games policy in Germany. To explore the parties' positions, Felix Falk from game will host conversations with leading political representatives in the coming weeks. The first guest in the new series of #gamechanger talks will be SPD General Secretary Dr. Matthias Miersch.
For years, game - The German Games Industry Association has engaged with prominent politicians across all parties through its #gamechanger format. Previous guests have included Christian Lindner (FDP), Dorothee Bär (CSU), Nathanael Liminski (CDU), Ricarda Lang (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), and Saskia Esken (SPD). The association leverages this platform more intensively in the run-up to elections to gauge the parties’ stances on games policy. Although the early federal election has left less time for planning, the association is pressing ahead with the concept.
The first episode before the February 23 election will feature SPD General Secretary Dr. Matthias Miersch in conversation with game Managing Director Felix Falk. They will discuss the SPD’s election plans and its proposals for the next legislative period. In its manifesto, the SPD has pledged to promote games as both a nonprofit cultural asset and a driver of innovation.
The discussion will be streamed live on the association's Twitch channel, where viewers can join the debate and participate via chat.
