Last year, the B2B event Pressplay took place alongside gamescom lan for the first time and quickly sold out. Around 300 guests from the games industry are expected to attend again this year. The 20 March event will focus on panels and collaborative exchange. Tickets for Pressplay can be purchased separately on Eventbrite.

Many creators have once again announced their participation in gamescom lan 2026. These include JenNyan, Metashi, MckyTV, Bonjwa, EloTRIX, Rosemondy, LetsHugo, PietSmiet and Maxim.

Following the introduction of the fighting games area last year, the organisers are expanding on this. To further develop this area, the offering will be expanded to include an Artist Alley and an entertainment area. This will be underlined by the official qualifying tournament for Riot Games' 2XKO. Up to 256 of the best players will gather at the official 'Community National' to secure a place in the grand final.

With Lorcana, Riftbound and Yu-Gi-Oh!, gamescom lan will offer three TCG tournaments. Magic: The Gathering will also be played at open tables alongside the other trading card games.

A total of €85,000 in prize money will be awarded to all participants. The highest prize money at gamescom lan to date - €20,000 - will be awarded at MckyTV's Epic Win Challenge. Other tournaments will be held in esports titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Valorant and League of Legends, most of which are organised by partners. Counter-Strike is under the patronage of the Berlin-based organisation BIG, and the publisher Ubisoft is behind Rainbow Six Siege.
