Saxony is participating in gamescom with a joint stand for the second time. It has more sub-exhibitors than many established locations. And with the presentation of the Next Level: Saxony platform, a real highlight is planned.

Saxony is represented for the second time this year with a joint booth at gamescom. 24 developer teams, companies, networks, and institutions will showcase their expertise in the business are” together with Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (WFS) and promote the industry and the location. That is five more exhibitors than last year. Within an extensive supporting program at the joint booth, the launch of the new online platform “Next Level: Saxony” will be a highlight on August 20 at 10 a.m. The platform, initiated by the city of Leipzig, offers gamers an excellent network and information on financial support, among other things. The participation of Games & XR Mitteldeutschland e.V. and Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH (MDM) rounds off the presentation with their offerings for competence networking and promotion.

"The industry's importance for the business location and the corresponding support from the state government is also reflected in the fact that a joint booth is planned again for next year's gamescom. This is an important signal. After all, regular trade fair appearances strengthen the industry's profile and the location's position in the international arena. In addition, customers and business partners see the repeated presence as a sign of stability and commitment on the part of the industry. This helps to build relevant networks and establish long-term partnerships," explains WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn. “The games industry is a real win for Leipzig as a business location. Leipzig is all about opportunities and innovation. Gamescom is the perfect place to show off these strengths to the world. By being there, we're raising the profile of Leipzig companies and hoping to connect with companies that might want to set up shop here,” says Anja Hähle-Posselt, Head of the Office for Economic Development at the City of Leipzig.
