Emergency Contacts On Site

There are paramedics stationed in Halls 7 (coming in from the boulevard, turn to your right) and 11.1 (at the northern edge of the hall near the Plaza entrance). An on-site doctor is stationed in hall 11.1 as well.

If you need assistance of any kind or feel threatened, you can call the security offices (called Messewache in German) under the following numbers:

Each info point can also point you in the right direction. They are located at any entrance as well as at the following junctions:

  • Passage from Hall  2 to 4
  • Passage from Hall 3 to 11
  • Passage from Hall 4 to 5

  • Passage from Hall 5 to 10
  • Passage from Hall 10 to 11 (West)
  • Passage from Hall 10 to 11 (East)
  • Northern Boulevard in front of Hall 7

Emergency Contacts, Cologne and Nation-Wide

Police, Emergency Doctor and Fire Department

For non-life threatening medical emergencies, you can dial 116 117 in all of Germany. This number connects to the Medical Help service. You can find more information in English on their website.

For life threatening situations, medical or otherwise: The European Distress Call 112 works on all phones in all of the European Union. If you state your case on the phone, the operator will send a police car, emergency doctor, paramedic or fire brigade to your position depending on the emergency, free of charge. Keep in mind that this is only for emergencies. If you want to connect to the police emergency call directly, the number is 110. Again, this number is only for emergencies as well.

The nearest police department that is responsible to answer calls for minor affairs (like theft, for example) is Polizeiwache Deutz, Siegburger Str. 195A, 50679 Köln (Google Maps). The corresponding phone number is +49221 2295530.

Hospitals, Pharmacy & Drug Store

Near the fair grounds are three hospitals that you can visit free of charge if you have any medical issues. To the south lies Eduardus Hospital (Custodisstraße 3-17, 49 221 8274 0), to the east the Protestant Hospital Kalk (Buchforststraße 2, +49 221 8289 0), and to the west righ across the Rhine the St. Maria Hospital (Kunibertskloster 11-13, +49 221 1629 0).

The nearest pharmacy to gamescom is Goten Apotheke, Deutzer Freiheit 114, 50679 Köln (Google Maps), just eight minutes on foot from Köln Messe/Deutz (about 11 minutes from gamescom South entrance). If you need to find a pharmacy outside of regular service times, you can use the Emergency Pharmacy Finder website here.

In case you need plasters, snacks, drinks, deodorant or other smaller stuff, the nearest all-purpose drug store is dm, right down the street from Goten Apotheke (Google Maps).
