Whether it’s a round-up of the GIC’s most extensive conference programme to date, the CEEGAs nominees or the Student Games Festival – news from Poland is dominating today’s headlines. However, there is also news from Ireland, Italy and many other countries.
The Polish games industry, dear readers,
is one of the most dynamic in Europe. This is clearly evident just a few weeks ahead of the Poznan Game Arena and, above all, the associated GIC. That said, the comprehensive conference programme is just one reason amongst many. For the first time, several online and offline events will take place in October under one umbrella: the Polish Video Game Days. These include, for example, the CEEGAs awards ceremony as part of the GIC, as well as the Student Games Festival, which takes place earlier in Warsaw. So there are plenty of reasons to travel to Poland in October to get a feel for the dynamic games scene – though not just then.

The organisers of the GIC have already announced nearly 100 sessions featuring speakers from Walt Disney Imagineering, Ubisoft, Activision, CD Projekt Red, Techland, 11 Bit Studios and Wargaming, amongst others. And they haven’t even revealed half of what’s to come.

Following its successful launch in 2026, the Irish Games Fund is entering a new phase. According to the industry association IMIRT, the concept has been further developed. Funding is now provided in three stages: the Development Fund, the Prototype Fund and the Release Fund.
