The development of digital games requires many in-demand skills, and this is precisely what the GamesTalente youth competition is all about. Entries can be anything game-related, such as texts, drawings, audio recordings or videos. Entries can also be submitted as part of a team.

A jury of experts from the games industry, media, education and talent promotion will select the best entries. Fifty of the best young people will take part in the GamesTalente Academy in Weil der Stadt (near Stuttgart) from 25 July to 1 August 2026. There, they will collaborate on their own game projects, combining their individual skills. They will be supported by game developers and educational specialists. The deadline for submissions to the competition is 30 March 2026.

GamesTalente was initiated by the Talentförderzentrum Bildung & Begabung (Talent Promotion Centre Education & Talent), an initiative of the Stifterverband, and the Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur (Digital Game Culture Foundation). GamesTalente is a project within the framework of the Allianz für Schule Plus (Alliance for Schools Plus) in the Future Mission Education programme. The programme is financially supported by the Mercedes-Benz Fund. Information on the conditions of participation for GamesTalente, as well as information for parents and guardians, can be found here.
