Stefan Marcinek Teases This Years GermanDevDays for August
It's not really an announcement yet, but Assemble Entertainment CEO Stefan Marcinek has given a first preview of this year's GermanDevDays on social media. The event will no longer take place in June, but in August.
The choice of date is interesting because it is closer to gamescom and devcom in Cologne. However, Stefan Marcinek did not say exactly when and where the GermanDevDays (GDD) would take place in August in his post on LinkedIn. "#GDD2024 in August. That's all I'll say...", writes the founder and CEO of Assemble Entertainment, who also organises the GDD.
GDD is a developer conference focused on the German market. It is characterised by a limited number of participants, an unusual selection of topics by mostly experienced German industry experts, free places for indie teams and a humorous award scheme, including the "Best Biberkacke" (Best Beaver Poop) award, a nod to Hollywood's Golden Raspberry. In the past, GermanDevDays has taken place in or around Frankfurt am Main between late May and early June. And even if the date is new this year, it is likely that the GDD will take place there again this year.
