In recent days, the Kickstarter campaign for Paws and Leaves, developed by grownarts, gained momentum and reached a final total of €59,000 - almost 200% of the funding target. The team is delighted with the outcome and is still accepting late pledges.
With €59,000 raised from 854 backers, the Kickstarter campaign for Paws and Leaves - A Last Tale has been a resounding success. The funding target was €30,000. Thus, the game, developed by indie studio grownarts in Brake, Lower Saxony, exceeded its funding target by 196%, with an average pledge of just under €69, including four co-publisher pledges of €2,500 each.
The stretch goal 'Haven' (housing) was missed by only €1,000. However, it is still possible to support the project with late pledges. This opportunity has already been taken up by more people interested in the project. Currently, €59,483 has been raised (198% of the target), from a total of 865 backers.
Florian, Vanessa and the whole grownarts team posted on Kickstarter to thank the community for their support: "Last year, our first campaign failed. That pain was real. For a moment, it felt like the leaves were falling faster than we could catch them and I feared that our little fox might never rise again. I felt personally defeated. But then, slowly, step by step, we began to rebuild. New doors opened for us. A new demo was born. We went to Baltic Dev Days. We showed the game at Gamescom. And everywhere we carried it, we carried both our hope and our fear. The fear to fail again. The fear that maybe… this dream wasn’t strong enough. But you proved us wrong, very wrong - otherwise we would not standing here on nearly 200% funded. Every pledge, every message, every cheer, it lifted us. You made us believe again. You turned fear into courage."
The team is now taking the next steps. After a short break, they will submit an application for production funding, which would speed up the development process. However, the project will still be realised even without funding.
