Rockstar Games "verschenkt" den Klassiker "Grand Theft Auto 2" an alle Fans der Serie.

Das 1999 erschienene PC-Game "Grand Theft Auto 2 steht auf der website von Rockstar Games frei zum Download bereit. Das Handbuch liegt als PDF-Dokument bei. Rockstar weist jedoch darauf hin, dass es sich bei dem Spiel nicht um Freeware handelt und ein anderweitiger Vertrieb nicht gestattet ist. Im Frühling 2003 hatte der Entwickler bereits den ersten Teil der erfolgreichen Serie kostenlos angeboten.
