Many questions about the Baldur's Gate series project remain unanswered after Deadline's exclusive report, such as the timing of when the series will be produced and broadcast. At the same time, however, many details have been confirmed. According to the report, Craig Mazin will be the writer, executive producer and showrunner of the TV adaptation of Baldur's Gate. Deadline names Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O'Connor and Gabriel Marano from Hasbro Entertainment as additional producers. Wizard of the Coast, the rights holder of the D&D game universe, is part of Hasbro. According to Deadline, Chris Perkins, Head of Story at Wizards of the Coast, will also serve as a consultant.

According to Deadline, Mazin is an avowed fan of Baldur's Gate and D&D. The series itself is said to feature new and familiar characters. It is a story that takes place immediately after the events of Baldur's Gate 3.
