Real estate projects rarely get done as planned. That's also the case with the House of Games in Berlin. According to various media reports citing the German Press Agency (dpa), the operating company Wista Management has announced a delay in the opening. Instead of early 2026 as originally planned, the House of Games will now likely open in the second half of 2026. No reasons for the delay were given.

According to reports in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tagesschau, co-working contracts are to be signed from spring 2026. The operators say that 80 interested companies have already registered their interest. Ubisoft Berlin will be the anchor tenant of the House of Games. However, the game association and some of its subsidiaries, such as the USK and the Digital Game Culture Foundation, will also move into the House of Games.

The House of Games was a concept in the industry for many years and began to take shape in 2023 (in German). The location itself was not officially unveiled until the summer of 2025, with the branding then being presented at gamescom. Since then, the operators have been providing interested parties with information about the general conditions at various events, although it is understood that some details are still to be finalized.
