Munich-based Leyline Creations has announced its debut game, Guildrun. The team is collaborating with a dedicated community to take the autobattler genre in a new direction.
Indie game studio Leyline announced Guildrun, a roguelike autobattler due to be released on Steam in late 2026. They also launched a playable demo.
Leyline is an independent video game studio founded by Raffael Köhler and Jonathan Hager. Its team includes former employees of Activision Blizzard, Riot Games, Konami, and Electronic Arts. The creative core of Guildrun comprises lead designers who have worked on Hearthstone and The Bazaar. Development was supported with €265,687 for Homunkulus (WT) in funding from the German Federal Government's computer game funding programme. The funding period ends on 30 November 2026, which coincides with the expected release window. The FFF Bavaria provided €80,000 of funding for the development of the prototype for the Homunkulus project.

With Guildrun, the aim is to blend the replayability of auto-battlers and roguelikes to create an experience in which no two runs are the same. Players assemble a team of heroes to become an unstoppable force. They explore rifts, evolving their builds run after run through traits, items, and relics, in order to crush waves of monsters. The game will feature short 20-minute runs which can be opened, saved, and closed at any time. There will also be eight difficulty levels.
Leyline developed Guildrun alongside their players. From the earliest stages of development, the studio invited players to help shape the game by testing the closed alpha version (in January 2026), and this group grew to over 3,000 people who played for hundreds of hours before a Steam page even existed. The demo launch is the next step.
