The live-action film adaptation of Elden Ring, written and directed by Alex Garland, is set to be released on 3 March 2028. According to Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24, production is set to begin in spring 2026. The film will also be shot in IMAX format.

The film is based on the game by FromSoftware (under the direction of Hidetaka Miyazaki), which is based on a mythological story written by George R. R. Martin. Elden Ring is one of the most successful new gaming IPs of recent years. More than 30 million copies of the dark fantasy action RPG have been sold worldwide since its launch in 2022. A version for the Switch 2 is also set to be released later this year. This Elden Ring Tarnished Edition includes the 2024 DLC Shadow of the Erdtree.
