LootLocker has appointed Jonathan Lander, former SVP of Global Product and Publisher Operations at Bethesda, to its board of directors. This appointment will sharpen LootLocker's focus on helping publishers transform their gaming catalogues into connected player experiences. "At Bethesda, I saw firsthand how important it is for publishers to have the tools and data to truly understand their players and guide them across a portfolio. LootLocker is building the kind of functionality I wish we'd had available years ago, one that connects games together, strengthens the relationship between publisher and player and creates opportunities for cross-promotion," Jonathan Lander says.

According to LootLocker, its game backend technology powers over 10,000 live games worldwide, from in-game systems to direct player relationships spanning games, platforms and catalogues. Publishers such as Digital Bandidos, Fast Travel Games, and Astra Logical are already working with the company. In addition to its publishing initiatives, LootLocker continues to provide developers with the core backend technology needed to build and run games, including player accounts, progression systems, in-game economies and live operations. The Swedish company has also announced that it has raised an additional $2.5 million from current and new investors. This funding will be used to accelerate its publisher-focused roadmap, expand partnerships, and develop tools to facilitate direct player engagement for publishers.

Alexander Bergendahl, CEO and Co-Founder of LootLocker: "Publishers spend huge amounts of time and money trying to grow audiences for each new game from scratch. We believe the real opportunity lies in guiding players through the publisher's own catalog of games, boosting discoverability and retention across all titles. Together the appointment of Jonathan and our new funding milestone significantly increases our ability to deliver on that mission."
