Thomas Kœgler Is the New CEO of Asmodee
The Embracer Group announces the appointment of Thomas Kœgler as the new CEO of Asmodee and a Board of Directors of the Asmodee Group. The new leadership is an important step towards the planned demerger of the Group.
The Swedish Embracer Group announces the appointment of Thomas Kœgler as the new Chief Executive Officer of Asmodee Group. A Board of Directors for Asmodee Group, the Swedish parent company and the future listed company, has also been appointed and formed. The Board consists of Lars Wingefors (Chair of the Board), Kicki Wallje-Lund (Deputy Chair), Stéphane Carville, Marc Nunes, Jacob Jonmyren, and Linda Höljö.
In April, Embracer Group announced that it would into three distinct games and entertainment companies: Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain & Friends (WT) and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends (WT). The three entities will become separate, publicly traded companies in order to better focus on their respective core strategies. The transformation of the Embracer Group into three separate entities affects the GSA companies Deca (Berlin), Plaion (Munich/Höfen), and THQ Nordic (Vienna). Asmodee is a global leader in tabletop games and has been part of Embracer since March 2022. Thomas Kœgler joined Asmodee in 2015 as International Programme Manager and became Head of Strategy and Business Development in 2019. He then became EVP Interactive and Entertainment, focusing on franchise development to expand Asmodee's licences beyond tabletop games. Since June 2023, he has been responsible for Asmodee's business operations as COO. Kœgler will become a member of Embracer's Executive Management Team, replacing Stéphane Carville. A Board of Directors for Asmodee Group AB, the Swedish parent company and future listed entity, has also been appointed and formed. This board is an important first step in strengthening the company's governance for the long term as Asmodee progresses towards becoming an independent listed company on Nasdaq Stockholm.

The corporate headquarters will be located in Karlstad (Sweden), while the operational headquarters will remain in Paris (France).
