Austria's largest gaming event will return to Vienna's City Hall and the Rathausplatz from 10 to 12 October 2025.

The date for the 16th Game City in Vienna has been set, once again with free admission. Vienna's Vice Mayor Christoph Wiederkehr: "From 10 to 12 October 2025, we will once again open the gates of Vienna's City Hall to all gaming fans - be they children, teenagers, families, school classes or experts. After a record-breaking year in 2024 with 85,000 visitors, one thing is certain: Gaming in the City Hall brings people together in an analogue way, enriches their lives and, above all, is fun. At Game City, we show that gaming is also about education, innovation and responsible gaming."

Wiederkehr continues: "Now in its 16th year, Game City brings people together - whether it's livestreaming on Twitch, playing board games in the Family Zone or performing on stage in the Arcade Courtyard. The Health Zone, which focuses on exercise, nutrition and mental fitness in a playful way, has been particularly popular recently." In addition to esports tournaments, cosplay competitions and the international F.R.O.G. (Future and Reality of Gaming) conference, there will also be a Wienxtra children's zone for the youngest, with everything from digital games to board games.

"With interesting talks, discussions and advice, we will focus on the responsible use of digital games and the positive aspects of gaming - as a hobby that brings people together, inspires and enriches them. And above all, it is fun," explains Vucko Schüchner, CEO of Wienxtra.
