David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, is reportedly leaving the media group, according to Variety. A sale of the division, which most recently failed to meet high financial expectations, is reportedly not on the table.

Variety reports, citing well-informed sources, that Warner Bros. is not fundamentally reconsidering its involvement in the gaming sector. Haddad, who has led the Hollywood giant’s gaming division for over a decade, was at the helm during the release of the highly successful Hogwarts Legacy, which set high expectations for future titles. However, subsequent games failed to replicate the same level of commercial success.

While Haddad’s departure has not yet been officially confirmed, Variety references an internal email sent to Warner Bros. Games employees, which the publication claims to have obtained. According to their sources, Haddad’s exit will not result in the sale or closure of the games division. Instead, his departure may pave the way for strategic shifts—moving away from a focus on triple-A games and toward live-service and mobile gaming projects.
